Notified ("the App," "we," "us") is built and operated by an independent developer. This policy explains what information the App collects, how it's used, and your choices.
Notified does not require you to create an account, and does not collect your name, email address, or other personal contact information to use the App. Each installation is identified by an anonymous, randomly generated device identifier, stored locally on your device.
Device identifier. A random ID generated when you first install the App, used to associate your topics and settings with your device. It is not linked to your real identity.
Push notification token. If you enable notifications, Apple issues a push token that we store so we can deliver alerts to your device. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings.
Topics and checklist content you create. The topics you choose to track and the checklist categories the App generates or you add (e.g., a company name, a person's name, a category like "Funding rounds") are stored so the App can check for relevant updates on your behalf.
Subscription and purchase information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, purchase transactions are processed by Apple and our subscription-management provider (RevenueCat). We receive confirmation of your subscription status and tier, but we do not receive or store your payment card details — those are handled entirely by Apple.
Diagnostic and error information. Like most apps, basic technical logs (e.g., error messages) may be generated to help us fix bugs. These are not linked to your identity beyond your anonymous device ID.
We use the information above solely to operate the App: to check for updates matching your topics, to send you notifications, to manage your subscription tier, and to fix bugs. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
To find relevant, up-to-date information for your topics, the App sends your topic and checklist text to third-party services that perform searches or provide structured data on our behalf, which may include:
These services receive only the text of your topic/checklist categories as needed to perform the search — never your device identifier, contact information, or payment details. Each provider handles data under its own privacy policy; we choose providers that do not use this data for their own advertising purposes where such options are available.
Our backend infrastructure is hosted by Supabase. Subscription purchases are processed by Apple and managed by RevenueCat, each under their own privacy policies:
Your topics, checklist items, and any matches the App finds are retained until you delete the topic or delete the App. Deleting the App removes your local data; to request deletion of any data still held on our servers, contact us using the information below.
Notified is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
You can delete any topic at any time within the App, which removes its associated data from our servers. You can disable push notifications at any time in iOS Settings. Deleting the App from your device stops all data collection going forward.
We may update this policy as the App's features change — for example, if we introduce optional accounts in the future. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Material changes (such as introducing account-based sign-in) will be reflected here before or when that feature launches.
